The Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley is calling on arts enthusiasts and community-minded individuals looking for a fun and meaningful way to spend a few hours this summer. If you’ve been searching for an easy way to connect with your community while supporting the arts, now is the perfect time to get involved!
Volunteering opportunities for our up and coming events
- The Solstice Crafty Cruise (Must be 19+) | Friday, June 20, 2025
- Hospitality/serving: Help serve food, drinks and craft materials.
- If you enjoy a social atmosphere and want to be part of a vibrant event filled with music, local food, and hands-on creativity, then don’t miss this fundraiser down the inlet!
- Teas at The Mill 2025 | Dates To be announced
- Serving: Take Tea orders, and help serve food and drink to patrons.
- Located at the McLean Mill, these events held on Sundays in July and August merge art and history. Providing a memorable experience for seniors and kids. As well as providing a perfect excuse to dress up in your favorite fancy summery outfit!
- Crafty Critters Summer Camps | July 7th – August 22nd, 2025
- Teaching assistant: Prepare craft materials, assist campers with their projects, take campers on outings, and most importantly have fun!
- This role offers valuable experience in teaching, leadership, creativity and is especially ideal for those considering a future in education, childcare, or community arts.
Perks
Event Volunteers will have snacks, drinks, and a meal provided. As well as a free limited edition Community arts council T-shirt! Any volunteer who have worked with us for over 5 hours will have their choice of 2 free tickets to one of our events, or 1 free adult membership for the year (a $35 value).
Not interested in events?
We are also seeking volunteers for other important behind the scenes work. Join us in gallery painting signs, distributing posters, and hanging artwork! There are also other opportunities for more behind the scenes work, such as assisting our events coordinator, administrator, or gallery coordinators. These opportunities are perfect for those who are exploring new career options.
Volunteering with the Arts Council offers more than just a chance to help out, it is a way to give back to the community, form new friendships, and even build skills that can support future employment or personal development.
