The Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley is hiring! We’re looking for a creative, organized person to join our team in a dual role supporting the growth of our organization, part administrator keeping our membership and records accurate, part marketer telling our community’s stories through writing, design, photo and video.
The details: Part-time casual, 10–15 hours per week, $21.50/hour, starting August 2026. The role is based in Port Alberni and is hybrid work from home/in-office, with flexible hours. In-person training for the first one to two weeks will be necessary, and a standing in-person weekly meeting.
What you’ll do: Process memberships and support members, interview and write up featured artists, design social graphics and posters, photograph and film events, and keep our website, social media and CRM up to date.
We’re looking for someone who’s a confident writer, comfortable with design tools (Canva, Adobe Express, Photoshop or similar) and short-form video, quick to learn new software, highly organized and self-directed, and happy talking with artists and the public. Previous marketing or admin experience is a plus, but we welcome entry-level applicants who are developing their skills. Familiarity with the Port Alberni arts community is an asset.
