Hi! My name is Aislinn M Karn. I’m a high school graduate and I’ve just recently moved to Port Alberni—I’ve been here for two months and so far I’m loving it!!!

I’ve been making art since childhood, and I’ve practiced my whole life up to this point. I’m still learning every day. I started selling my art when I was 21, and it’s been such a rewarding journey. I love art because it allows me to express myself creatively. It’s also a huge part of how I cope with depression. Sharing my art with others is so important to me—it’s a way to connect, and maybe even speak to people in ways words can’t.

All of my pieces are created in my home, because home is where the heart is. I find it peaceful and comforting—it’s the best place for me to create.

I work in mixed media, mostly creating female portraits in a unique semi-realistic style. I love experimenting with different materials like alcohol-based markers, pencil crayons, watercolour paints, metallic paint pens, metallic watercolours, fine liners, and Faber-Castell Gelatos.

My inspiration comes from all sorts of places: nature, the moon, horror movies, flowers, witchcraft, mythology, and darkness.

A little about me—I’m a witch. I practice herbal and moon witchcraft. I’m a Libra, my favourite colour is purple, and I’m a proud dog mom and plant mom.
