Caitlin Alder (She/They) is an Anishinaabe (Ojibwe) artist from Naotkamegwanning First Nation in Treaty 3 Territory.
She is grateful to be a visitor and guest on the territories of the Hupac asat ̌̓ ḥ, Huu-ay-aht, Tla-
o-qui-aht, Tseshaht, and the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ Nations, having recently moved here with her husband and 5-year-old son.
Caitlin is a multi-disciplinary artist and has been doing beadwork and crochet for over 10 years, but her
passion of the last three years has been wheel-throwing and hand building with clay. Caitlin has been
operating a small independent online storefront and vending at small artists’ markets under the name
Crow and Loon Artistry since 2022 and is excited to be bringing her art and passion to Port Alberni.
The name Crow and Loon Artistry was chosen to honour the surnames of her grandmother (Crow) and
aunt (Loon), both of whom walk along side her from the spirit world.
