A huge admirer of BC`s rugged coast and the inter-tidal zone in particular, Robert recreates stunning soapstone renditions using traditional hand tools. After living 13 years off-grid Rob is well acquainted with many of the inhabitants roaming seabeds below, including years of employment on commercial oyster farms in Clayoquot Sound.

Art isn`t a newcomer in Rob`s life. Prior to carving, there were years of custom freehand tattooing, pen + ink creations and oil / canvass fine arts, but the greatest satisfaction arises from producing the solid + heavy three dimension polished soapstone gems.

When not at work with art, Rob can be found cruising in his old MGB or riding dirt bikes to remote wilderness. More of an introvert than extrovert, Rob enjoys calling the Alberni Valley home.
