Sandi Offerein

Sandi Offerein is a mixed-media painter who lives on the West Coast, creating colourful, whimsical work that reflects her own vision of how the world could be. Deeply connected to her faith, her creative practice is guided by a desire to bring joy and lighten heavy hearts, an approach she describes as a way of participating in the nature of God. At the heart of her work is a love of noticing, catching the ideas, colours, and images that call out to her and following them wherever they lead.

Sandi’s artistic expression spans canvas, rock, wood, and just about any surface that strikes her fancy, with orcas surfacing again and again as a favourite subject alongside a growing series exploring the place where water meets air. Her path into painting took root at Boomerangs Cafe, where her work is still sold today, and she has since become active in the local arts community through the Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce. She is currently developing a series for a gallery in Parksville and recently painted a fire hydrant in the community as part of the HGTV show Town Takeover.

When she’s not painting, Sandi is raising her large family, which she describes as her proudest creation and a constant source of colour and life in her art.
