All Aboard a Crafty Cruise!

The Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley invites you to set sail for an evening of creativity, music, and coastal charm with the return of its summer fundraiser! This year’s Crafty Cruise takes place on the summer solstice, meaning breathtaking views of the sunset aboard the historic Frances Barkley. Mark your calendars—this one-of-a-kind 19+ event takes place on Friday, June 20, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, departing promptly from Harbour Quay.

Each $75 ticket includes a drink ticket, craft ticket and a charcuterie cup. This year, we are happy to be serving craft drinks from Dog Mountain Brewing, with beer, lemonade and iced tea. Plus, a special crafty cruise mocktail! We will also be serving hand-crafted charcuterie cups from V9Y Catering, with the option of being vegan and/or gluten free. For the craft, guests can casually create a coastal bear to take home as a keepsake. Make one for yourself or for your friend! Expect upbeat summer vibes on deck as DJ Spin Daddy spins an eclectic mix of beats for a diverse and vibrant crowd.

The evening will also feature games, including a crowd-favourite Pictionary competition, and event photography by Ali Penko. All proceeds support the programming and operations of the Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley, helping to keep arts thriving in our region.

Online ticket sales have ended, but you can still purchase at the door! We leave at 6PM Sharp – arrive to begin loading at 5:30PM.

What you need to know about our Solstice Crafty Cruise!

This is a fundraiser for the Community Arts Council, bringing together our local community to celebrate the Alberni Valley!

Each ticket includes:

  • One craft drink or mocktail (beer, lemonade, iced tea, or the signature Crafty Cruise mocktail).
  • One hand-crafted charcuterie cup from V9Y Catering (vegan and gluten-free options available).
  • One craft ticket to create a coastal bear wooden cutout.
  • DJ Spindaddy playing summer beats! 

NOTE: If you have any dietary restrictions for your charcuterie cup, please notify us as soon as possible by emailing info@alberniarts.com

WE SET SAIL AT 6PM SHARP!

  • You can begin loading as early at 5:30PM at the Lady Rose Marina (Harbour Quay).
  • Tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred to another guest.
  • Please contact info@alberniarts.com for assistance with ticket transfers or any questions before the event.
  • Ticket sales will end up to 2 days before the event, so please purchase your tickets in advance.

About the craft:

Each guest will be given a craft ticket to be exchanged to create a ‘coastal bear’. This fun and simple craft involves painting and assembling the wooden bear.

About the boat:

All aboard the MV Frances Barkley! The boat will take us on a 3 hour journey down the Alberni Inlet, so please be prepared.

  • The boat has limited accessibility. For more information about the boat, please contact the Lady Rose Marine Services. For any other access requests, please email admin@alberniarts.com.
  • There is no wifi on the boat, so you will be unable to make card payments. Yes – it is cash only! Please bring cash if you would like to buy additional food/drink or pre-purchase drink tickets online.
  • There are parts of the boat that are uncovered, so please dress for the weather.
  • There is limited seating on the boat (first come, first-served) and washrooms are located on the lower deck. Smoking is permitted on the lower back deck. Cannabis is not permitted.
