Harbour Quay to Sparkle with Holiday Cheer at Annual Light Up Event

The festive season is set to begin in a spectacular fashion at the Harbour Quay on November 29th, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, with the annual Harbour Quay Light-Up. This beloved community event is proudly presented by the Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley, with generous support from the City of Port Alberni Community Investment Program.

The evening will kick off with the festive music of the ADSS Band at 5:30 PM, setting the tone for a night filled with merriment. As twilight deepens, the highlight of the evening will occur at 6:00 PM with the official tree lighting ceremony, promising to transform the Harbour Quay into a dazzling winter wonderland.

Following the tree lighting, attendees will be treated to a series of performances by local choirs, including the Timbre! Choir, Barkley Sounds Community Choir, and Urbanstreet Choir, which will perform an array of festive tunes until 7:00 PM. These performances provide a perfect backdrop for the evening’s activities and ensure that the air will be filled with joy and music.

In addition to the musical entertainment, the evening will also feature the Mistletoe Market at the Grove Gallery. Open late for the event, the market will offer an array of artwork and crafts from outstanding local vendors, making it an ideal spot for holiday shopping and finding unique gifts.

Children and families can look forward to visiting with Santa Claus and enjoying special treats available throughout the event. Delightful donuts from The Donut Shop, savory refreshments from Salmonberry’s Emporium, and warm hot chocolate from Starboard Grill will be on offer to keep everyone cozy.
