Summer Opportunities for Artists

Open to Visual & Performing Artists, $250 honorarium

In partnership with the Arrowsmith Rotary, we’re looking for creative, inclusive art experiences where people of all ages! Artists must be able to attend the event, July 18, 2026 at Blair Park, Port Alberni.

Activity examples: Large-Scale Visual Art – Community mural, mosaic, chalk art | Textile & Fibre Art – Yarn bombing, collaborative quilt, weaving, banners | Sculpture – Driftwood, lantern making, painted rock garden, wish tree | Cultural & Story-Based – Community mapping, storytelling, poetry wall

Your Activity Must Be… Interactive : accessible to participants of all ages and abilities, encouraging hands-on involvement | Unique and dynamic : visually, culturally, or meaningfully distinctive to the community | Produce a final work : a completed piece for display; if performance-based, final documentation must be included

In partnership with the Port Alberni Port Authority, we’re looking for creative, inclusive art experiences where people of all ages can come together to make something meaningful for this years Port Day. Yep – it’s the same as Colourfest!

Artists must be able to attend the event, June 13th from 10am – 1pm at the Water St. Docks.

Arrowsmith Rotary Call for Artists Deadline June 10

You are invited to submit work for display at the Arrowsmith Veterinary Clinic, part of our community exhibit program that brings original art into everyday community spaces!

Pieces are sold directly off the walls, putting your work in front of a steady stream of visitors, with a nominal $10 admin fee per piece to support the hanging and exhibit program. This is the first of several community exhibition walls.

The Opening Reception will be June 18th from 5pm – 7pm at the Arrowsmith Animal Hospital.

Show & sell your work at the Visitor Centre this Summer!

Local artists are invited to submit their work for display at the Visitor Centre for 13 weeks, as part of the Community Gallery Program. 

Pieces are sold directly off the walls, putting your work in front of a steady stream of visitors with no consignment fee. A $10 admin fee per piece is to support the hanging and exhibit program. Artists must be members of the Arts Council to take part in this exhibit. 

All work must be 10″ x 10″ square in order to take part in this exhibit!

“Retro Raincoast” merges the past with present, as we showcase work at Turn of the Tides thrift store!

Artists are invited to submit their work for display for the month of August, as part of the Community Gallery Program. 

Pieces are sold with no consignment fee, work that is sold must remain on display for the duration of the exhibit. A $10 admin fee per piece is to support the hanging and exhibit program. Artists must be members of the Arts Council to take part in this exhibit. There is no size limit on the show – and the theme should be aligned with the words “Retro” and “Raincoast”. Ie, work that showcases the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, our community, the history, or a futuristic look forward!
