Beauty of Humans Exhibition Showcases Youth Perspectives at the Visitor Centre
The Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley invites the public to experience Beauty of Humans, a powerful new exhibition featuring artwork by students from Alberni District Secondary School.
Running from May 11 to July 3 at the Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Information Centre, this exhibition explores identity, emotion, and the human experience through the eyes of emerging young artists in the community.
Through a range of mediums—including painting, drawing, and mixed media—the students of ADSS present deeply personal and thought-provoking works that reflect both individuality and shared human connection. Beauty of Humans celebrates not only artistic talent, but also the courage and creativity of youth voices.
The community is warmly invited to attend the Opening Reception on May 14 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., an opportunity to meet the artists, explore the exhibition, and take part in a special interactive element.
Guests will be invited to cast their vote for three featured awards:
- Most Compelling
- Most Creative
- People’s Choice
Each award-winning artist will receive a $150 prize, recognizing excellence and encouraging continued artistic growth.
The Community Arts Council extends sincere thanks to the Port Alberni Toy Run Society for generously sponsoring the exhibition awards, and to the Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce for providing the gallery exhibition wall and supporting this opportunity to showcase local youth talent.
Located at 2533 Port Alberni Highway, the Visitor Centre provides an accessible and welcoming space for residents and visitors alike to engage with local art and culture.
This exhibition highlights the importance of supporting youth creativity and offers a glimpse into the future of the arts in the Alberni Valley—one shaped by fresh perspectives, bold ideas, and authentic expression.
