Through his skilled use of watercolour and most recently oil paints, Langlois captures the interplay of light and shadow in nature, emphasizing its unpredictable beauty. He typically paints “en plein air” (painting/drawing outdoors) to sketch his subject and study how the light and shadows interact. He finishes his work “alla prima”, meaning to complete the painting in one sitting. Langlois’ artistic journey began in carpentry, influencing his meticulous approach to art. His works invite viewers to experience his landscapes in an impressionistic style that becomes abstract as one draws closer.
