After a short break, our Creative Explorers kids art classes are back for another round before the Summer.
From Sundays, June 9th – July 7th our fantastic arts instructor Nav hosts kids art classes for you and your child! These classes are meant to be explorative, process-based, fun and games focused.
These classes run from 10AM – 1PM, with each week focusing on a different medium.
June 9: Draw with Everything!
NAV leads games and exercises to teach fundamentals of tools and materials. With this knowledge of graphite pencils, crayons, charcoal, paper, cloth and rubbings of the world around us, we are learning about textures and feel.
June 16: 3D Drawings
Using tools like glue, and materials such as cloth, pompoms, and glitter, students are invited to build drawings that pop! Looking at different ways art can be made, NAV hopes to expand creative horizons.
June 23: Story Paintings
Looking at a collection of interesting contemporary paintings, we will be learning to read story from paintings. After an introduction to Acrylic Paint, students will be invited to paint a story.
June 30: Clay Creations
Beginning with facial awareness and a discussion into expression, NAV will invite participants into an understanding of character. Using lessons and demonstrations with clay, students are invited to build freely characters with large expression.
July 7: You the masterpiece!
Exploring ideas of worthiness, love, and value, participants create a masterpiece of their choice! Using the skills and mediums learned in previous lessons students are encouraged to make something that represents themselves. Everything is good!
