Local Artists to Capture Alberni Valley’s Beauty in 12th Annual Paint Out

Art and nature will blend seamlessly during the 12th annual Alberni Valley Paint Out set for the beginning of September. The picturesque surroundings of Port Alberni will once again serve as the canvas for both budding and seasoned artists during this vibrant en plein air event.

Scheduled for Sunday, September 1, and Monday, September 2, 2024, this much-anticipated gathering invites artists to set up their easels and unleash their creativity amidst the natural splendor of the Alberni Valley. The event is organized collaboratively by Alberni Art Rave and The Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley.

Participants are invited to kick off the event at the scenic Harbour Quay, right outside the Grove Gallery. This location not only offers inspiring views but also coincides with the bustling Salmon Festival at Tyee Landing, providing a lively backdrop for the artists at work.

The Alberni Valley Paint Out welcomes artists of all skill levels and mediums, from watercolour and oils to pastels and acrylics. This inclusive event has historically attracted a diverse group of artists, ranging from local amateurs to accomplished professionals like D.F. Gray, a renowned plein air pastel artist whose works have been showcased in New York and featured in Plein Air magazine.

This community event not only highlights the talents of local artists but also celebrates the natural beauty of Port Alberni, making art accessible and enjoyable for all who participate or observe.
