Guy Langlois has been living in the Alberni Valley for the past ten years

He is a very well known watercolor artist and has recently started dabbling in oil painting. Using a specific kind of non toxic water soluble oil based paints. He creates stunning impressionistic landscapes, inspired by nature and the need to protect it.

Guy has done his technical training for drafting and worked for over 40 years in that particular line of work. As for his watercolors he has been working with them for 20! He either works from his home studio or paints “en plein air” meaning in the open air. Watercolor can be a difficult medium to master but Guy particularly enjoys the transparency of the medium and the ability it has to blend to create those beautiful layers, the same goes for oil painting as well. 

Guy is also a professional musician. He typically enjoys playing jazz,”Playing jazz is very similar to painting. I react to what is happening on the paper, reacting and moving the paint to create something that is in my mind.”

Guy enjoys painting in the public eye so he can be available for live painting at your event or gathering, as well as offering mentorship to those that are interested in his particular style of impressionistic painting.
